The John Deere crawler models MC, 420, 430,
440, and 1010 use the same fiber discs and steel separator plates.
The JD MC crawler uses qty 6 of the friction discs and 5 of the steel separator platesThe JD420 & 430 crawlers used different numbers of
plates depending on their serial numbers. On those machines Serial # 158041 and
below the clutches used 7 fiber discs and 6 steel separator plates in each clutch.
On Serial # 158402 and up, the 420 and the 430 used 8 fiber discs and 8 steel separator
plates per clutch. We also carry the shuttle clutch discs for the JD420 and JD430.

The JD440 crawlers with a serial number up thru 455632 used 7 fiber discs p/n M3293 and 6
steel discs p/n AM984, replaced by the M872 .
The JD440 crawlers serial number 455633 and up used 8 fiber discs M3293 and 8 steel discs
AM984 replaced by M872.
The JD1010 crawlers used 8 fiber discs in all the serial number ranges. From serial number
1 thru 31000 quantity 8 steel plates, p/n M872 were used and above that serial number,
quantity 7 steel plates were used.

JD MC
The JD MC originaly used 6 fiber friction discs and 5 steel separator plates. Because
of changes over the years, primarily in the thickness of the fiber frictions, a different
number may be required. As a general rule, stack height should be the height of the
inner hub whether it is the M873T or the M1618T hub.

discontinued because the bimetallic clutch packs are so much better. We will no
longer sell the inferior fibers. When you compare the "other" clutch packs
and clutch kits, they are probably selling you the fiber frictions. We only sell the
superior clutch packs and clutch kits.************
Bimetallic friction discs are
available. These discs will have steel teeth and bronze friction surfaces. Expect
longer duty life, no broken teeth, and approximately 3% higher coefficient of
friction.

include the normal adhesive glue, but have also reinforced the linings with rivets.
If you have ever removed your JD350 brake bands and seen the linings broken loose from the
bands, the riveted reinforced linings will help prevent this problem.
